Dobsonville Stadium

Tucked in the heart of Soweto, Dobsonville Stadium is a multi-purpose venue and home ground of 2012 MTN8 champions and 2011/2012 South African Premier Soccer League runners-up, Moroka Swallows. Primarily used for football, it has hosted fixtures involving Banyana Banyana ahead of the 2012 London Olympics, and made history in 2015 as the venue for Bafana Bafana’s first-ever African Nations Championship qualifier on home turf. Originally built in 1975, the stadium underwent a R69 million refurbishment that brought capacity up to 17,700 and added a full athletics track, and it also served as one of the training venues for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
